Install help & requirements
PNG sequence exports need nothing extra
Only MP4, MOV and WebM exports use the free ffmpeg tool. If it’s missing, GaugeReel tells you and shows the one-line install: Mac brew install ffmpeg, Windows winget install ffmpeg.
Mac
One download for Apple Silicon and Intel. Open the .dmg and drag GaugeReel to Applications. It’s signed and notarized by Apple.
Windows
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you: click More info, then Run anyway. IT-managed PC? Get the .msi.
Screen
1280 × 800 or larger recommended.
