Getting started

From clip to overlay in four moves

The pipeline is linear — each stage unlocks the next. You can run the whole thing without signing in.

  1. 1

    Import

Drop in a GPX, Garmin FIT or GoPro/DJI clip — GaugeReel parses the telemetry and picks a profile.

  2. 2

    Sync

Scrub the timeline and nudge the offset until the gauges line up with the action on screen.

  3. 3

    Design

Drag gauges onto the transparent stage, then tune values, fonts and colour in the inspector.

  4. 4

    Export

Render a transparent overlay as a PNG sequence, or a MOV / WebM / MP4 with an alpha channel.

No account required to export your first overlay — sign in for Basic or Premium to unlock full gauge styling, transparent video and the full instrument set.

System requirements

What it needs to run

GaugeReel is light. Exporting an image sequence needs nothing extra; video export leans on ffmpeg.

Disk

~300 MB app · plus space for renders

GPU encode

Optional hardware encoder on any tier

Codecs

ffmpeg for MOV / WebM / MP4 export

Display

1280×800 or larger recommended

A note on ffmpeg

Exporting to a MOV, WebM or MP4 file uses ffmpeg. GaugeReel uses the bundled copy if one is present, otherwise it falls back to an ffmpeg on your PATH. Exporting a transparent PNG image sequence needs nothing extra — it works out of the box.

Ready when you are
