Insta360 telemetry overlay
for speed & heart rate

Put speed and heart rate on your Insta360 video with GaugeReel, the desktop app from gaugereel.net. Reframe or stitch your footage in Insta360 Studio and export the video first. Then pair it with a recorded FIT or GPX activity, choose the numbers your activity contains, and export an overlay for your video editor.

How it works

Add numbers to your Insta360 video

Import your recorded activity alongside the exported clip. Check the data against a visible stop or start and adjust the time offset until it matches the action. Then design and export your gauges.

Reframe or stitch in Insta360 Studio, then pair the exported footage with a supported FIT or GPX activity from your bike computer, watch or phone. Studio can also export GPX from supported GPS recordings. Check the data offset against your clip. Native INSV telemetry is not a direct input.

01

Import

Drop in an MP4 and/or a GPS track. GPMF is auto-scanned from the video; FIT and GPX load as external files. Attach several sources to one project.

  • MP4 preview source
  • GPX · FIT · GPMF
  • Multi-source projects
  • Video-less mode
02

Sync

Find a visible start, stop or turn in your clip and adjust the data offset until the gauges match. Check another point later; use stretch if timing drifts. Each source has its own alignment.

  • Match a visible event
  • Offset & stretch
  • Sync-to anchors
  • Data-speed modes
03

Design

Add speed, heart rate or other gauges your recording supports. Start with Free styles, then place and resize the numbers over your clip.

  • Choose recorded readings
  • Free styles available
  • Reusable profiles
  • Grid & safe-areas
04

Export the layer

Free exports transparent PNG sequences or chroma-key MP4, up to 1920 pixels wide, 1080 high and 30 fps. Basic adds transparent ProRes 4444 MOV and VP9 WebM, or burns the gauges straight into your video as a finished MP4 / ProRes MOV.

  • PNG or chroma MP4 on Free
  • No watermark or time limit
  • Alpha video or burn-in on Basic+
  • Choose a short test first
05

Finish your video

Place the overlay on a track above your footage in a compatible video editor. Remove the colored background for chroma MP4, align the layer, then export the finished video.

  • Overlay above the footage
  • Chroma key for MP4
  • Check timing and readability
  • Final export in your editor

A transparent layer over your Insta360 reframe

GaugeReel never re-encodes your Insta360 clip — reframe and stitch in Insta360 Studio as usual. It renders only the gauge overlay and exports a layer with a real alpha channel, so you drop it onto a track above your footage and the instruments sit cleanly over the action.

  • Free: PNG image sequence with a true alpha channel
  • Basic and Premium: ProRes 4444 MOV or VP9 WebM with real alpha
  • Free: chroma-key MP4; remove its colored background in your editor

Questions

Insta360 overlay questions, answered

The specifics of getting telemetry from your gear onto your footage.

Yes — reframe or stitch your Insta360 footage in Insta360 Studio, then pair the exported video with a timestamped GPX or Garmin FIT track in GaugeReel. Use a recorded watch, bike-computer or phone activity, or a GPX exported by Studio from supported GPS recordings. GaugeReel renders a separate overlay for your editor; it does not directly import native INSV telemetry.
